Series of Collaboration Workshops for Nonprofits Starting June 18

The NonProfit Alliance of Monroe County is hosting a series of two workshops for the nonprofit sector on collaboration, with IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs Professor Michael McGuire presenting.  The first workshop "Working Across Agency Boundaries: When, Why, and How" will be held on June 18. Registration deadline is June 12. In addition to discussing the importance of collaboration for nonprofit agencies and the factors that lead to successful collaborative endeavors, participants will experience collaborations through hypothetical simulations.

The second workshop, "Strategic Collaboration and Restructuring", will be July 16 and will focus on formal collaborative endeavors by examining "strategic restructuring" (e.g., mergers, integration, and alliances).  The role of various nonprofit actors in collaboration, such as boards, volunteers, and grant makers, will also be discussed.  Following the discussion, a panel of local nonprofit managers will share their experiences with collaborative ventures. Registration deadline is July 10.

To register contact Renee Chambers at renee@cfbmc.org or 333-9016. Fee for the workshops is $15/session.  Both workshops will be held from 8:30 to 12:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 401 N. Morton Street. A roundtable discussion will follow at a local restaurant.
